Cholera Crisis

It is evident in this picture that Cholera is common in the red areas, where Zimbabwe is located.

Zimbabwe says Cholera crisis is said to be a result of Western germ welfare, as reported on December 14, 2008 from Harare, Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe has accused the West of waging biological warfare and starting a cholera epidemic that has killed hundreds of people and sickened thousands.[1] The information minister, Sikhanyiso Ndlovu, stated that this situation is a "serious biological chemical war… a genocidal onslaught on the people of Zimbabwe by the British."

In its most severe forms, cholera is one of the most rapidly fatal illnesses known, and a healthy person's blood pressure may drop to hypotensive levels within an hour of the onset of symptoms; infected patients may die within three hours if medical treatment is not provided. In a common scenario, the disease progresses from the first liquid stool to shock in 4 to 12 hours, with death following in 18 hours to several days, unless oral rehydration therapy is provided. [2]

The article states that Zimbabwe leaders feel that "Cholera is a calculated racist terrorist attack on Zimbabwe by the unrepentant former colonial power which has enlisted support from its American and Western allies so that they invade the country,"[3] assuming this and the first quote is true, I feel that Canada is going to feel the toll of the repercussions because we have strong ties with Britain. However at the same time Zimbabwe doesn’t have the financial or human resources to fight back. I still am undecided if I am believe that Britain is responsible for this “terrorist attack”, and that this epidemic didn’t develop on its own.
